The future is now circular at Weekday. In a new sustainability project, the H&M subsidiary has succeeded in creating a 100 percent recyclable and biodegradable jeans combination. We'll show you the timeless denim set and tell you when you can buy it!
From environmental offender to environmental friend
Jeans are simply part of the basic equipment and therefore in absolutely every wardrobe. But unfortunately the jeans are too the biggest polluter in the clothing industry. From cotton cultivation, to the manufacture of denim material, to the design with trendy denim washes, no other item of clothing consumes as many valuable resources and pollutes our environment with dangerous toxins as the popular trousers. Weekday has now launched two new jeans styles that are both beautiful denim classics Created according to the circular design principles of the Jeans Redesign Initiative were.
In collaboration with more than 80 denim experts, this initiative defines minimum requirements for better design. A design that makes recyclability, traceability, durability and material health a new standard. These guidelines, which state, among other things, that jeans are free of dangerous chemicals and are made from 98 percent cellulose fibers, are created by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, which is strongly committed to a circular fashion industry.
