Hello there 🙂
No seriously – whether you're ready or not, this microtrend is quickly marking its territory as one of the hottest styles to try this spring and summer season. The trend we're talking about is better seen than described, but if we had to try, it would be basically any piece of clothing that creeps and wraps around a bare belly. These wraparound ties can be tied to a top, skirt, or even swimwear that we expect to see a lot more in Summer 2020.
This trend was unsurprisingly widespread in the '90s (which you can see in the Prada F / W 92 runway picture below), when just about everyone cared about skin-baring silhouettes. As we near warmer weather, we predict that this micro-trend will make it big again this decade. Influencers have already started wearing it and retailers are already hopping on board. If you ask me, this is the start of a big trend.
Seen on the runway on the Prada runway in the fall of 1992, this tied waist micro-trend was not just this season, but also a long time ago. With the '90s resurgence (again) this year, the resurgence of such a trend is not at all far off. But do let it know Prada did it first.
Of course, some of the leading women in the industry have already caught up with the trend through crop tops, skirts, and swimsuits. The multitude of styling techniques already convinces us that this trend is much more diverse than originally assumed.
This trend has already infiltrated the market in many forms, including skirts, crop tops, bikinis, and more. We recommend going for the crop tops and long skirts for spring. Come on in the summer and try the bikinis, minis and everything in between.
