Hello there 🙂
Our Second Life The (published on Monday) podcast is growing! On Wednesdays we will release a limited series in collaboration with Cartier Lesson for lifewhere co-founder and chief content officer of Who What Wear, Hillary Kerr, is talking to women who have an incredible career in an area or industry. Subscribe to something Second Life on iTunes and stay tuned. This week she speaks with the CEO and President of Cartier North America, Mercedes Abramo.
She is the CEO and President of Cartier North America, she had the chance to live in France (oh, and Maui, nbd), and she pretty much lives out our collective dream … Get to know Mercedes Abramo, dynamic businesswoman and mother of two children, who took some time to walk us through their careers and some really useful advice to navigate the workplace (no matter where you are in your career).
By the way, if she preaches the virtue of being open to new opportunities instead of playing it safe, then she knows she speaks from experience. She has followed this advice for most of her career and has served her well, from her early management days at the Ritz Carlton in Hawaii, through her MBA in France, to leading the flagship of Tiffany & Co. in New York City Cartier North America's first female CEO and President. (Angry!)
"Do not stagnate," she says (and this is clearly a woman who leads by example). "I would give this advice to anyone at any age in his career. "Sometimes you can do that by changing roles in your business, but sometimes you have to be prepared to take the step out of your comfort zone and try something new for the size in a whole new city. (Close it too not going back to school as Abramo did when she decided to do her MBA in luxury brand management in Paris after starting her career.)
