Hello there 🙂
When I grew up in SoCal, I was lucky enough to have Disneyland as a playground. Since I moved to the East Coast a decade ago, I have not lost time or distance. For someone who needs to commute by plane, I still go to the Disney Resort Parks a lot of, Accordingly, I had plenty of time to find out what it is worth buying, which rides are worth the wait, and which shoes do not cause bleeding and blistered feet when you sit down to enjoy the fireworks.
When it comes to ideal footwear for getting around Disneyland, most of the advice is "comfort above all". The parks themselves are not that big, but do not be surprised if you find that you have walked more than 8 miles until you reach the exit turnstiles. Comfort is definitely important, but there are more styles than just some padded running shoes.
According to Instagram, Disneyland has been one of the most geotagged sites in the app over the past five years. In 2014 and 2017, it even took first place. Gone are the days when Main Street was dominated by plain shorts and workout t-shirts. People are doing it now more than ever for the gram and giving more effort to what they wear in the theme parks.
It's still best to avoid overly trendy shoes (think of toe loops, fussy straps and stilettos as a whole), but you can keep the workout sneaks at home to favor a pair that looks just as good with a churro as with your dress. I can promise you that with my six proven shoes, you will not have any blisters.
Next: wear five comfortable shoes instead of flats.
