Hello there 🙂
In the last century, there have been various forms of loungewear – from the elegant peignoirs of the early twentieth century, to the silky co-ordinates of the seventies, to the attire of undergarments as outerwear. Fast forward to 2019 and Loungewear has taken on a whole new personality. This time, however, we can say with certainty that it looks pretty high quality.
Fashion clearly has a love affair with loungewear, but it's not loungewear as you know it. The moment I saw that the ladies' brand Joseph wore luxurious tracksuits and pulled-up sports hoodies, I knew something was changing. Normally I would not call myself a lover of sporting styles, but these camel-colored (ultra-comfortable) pieces had something undeniably fancy.
My suspicions were confirmed when I turned to Instagram and the latest street style footage from Fashion Week. Fashion editors and celebrities performed in knitted trousers, luxurious jogging pants, and casual co-ordination, but interestingly, these outfits looked just as expensive as the grandiose dresses and extroverted ensembles of their comrades. These casual pieces were no longer just a reserve for the living room and spin classes, but were worn with heels and chunky gold jewelry.
