Hello there 🙂
Anyone brave enough to embrace the trend of the swimwear that surfaced last summer has my admiration. Thong Swimwear entered the fashion scene for the first time in the 1980s, but over the past year, it has become an ordinary style that you will see on almost every beach in the TV series (for two seconds) Lindsay Lohans Beach Club and you'll see what I mean) and Instagram feed. Why?
"Thong swimwear has always been popular in markets like Brazil, Colombia and Italy," says Lily Russo, co-founder and creative director of Beach Flamingo. "These are countries where people spend most of their time on the beach. For many women, the lowest tan is on the list. However, they were made more visible by the likes of the Kardashians and Emily Ratajkowski through social media – as such, they have gained in popularity. "
Like many other trends, Tanga's swimwear has been reborn thanks to Instagram, and it seems like stores are getting ready for midsummer.
While Beach Flamingo has not reported a significant increase in sales of swimwear with thongs, Lily predicts that many of us are still too timid to try it out – including myself. The trend is towards mainstream, so with Lily's help, I've deciphered how to get swimwear to work in real life.
Keep browsing for our top tips, followed by an A-list inspiration. Then finally buy our edition of the best thongs.
"No one feels safe on the beach the first day," Lily admits. "Chances are, it's been a year since you were there the last time, so I always recommend getting a spray tan before you set off. Even a subtle glow will make you feel better in a bikini or bathing suit. "
Consider a one piece.
"While it's undeniable that the thong bikini is easier to reach than one-piece reps, it does exist. If you keep your upper half covered, you will feel less on stage or vulnerable if you first try the Tanga look. "
Pack a backup.
"Bring some shorts for your first Tanga swimwear outing. In this way, if you do not feel it, you can make the switch and continue your day. You can also test this at your hotel pool, where you can easily return to your room before venturing to the more distant beaches. "
Use straps to your advantage.
"If you're worried about not having enough support, look for bikini bottoms with thicker waist straps, which are especially helpful if you are less sure about your abdominal area."
Flossing is not your only option.
"Belts are usually associated with string-like straps, but you can choose another type that covers a little more to make you feel good and still flaunt your peach-colored bottom."
Now let's see the other swimwear that will be popular this year.
